Tolerance
Dissolving feelings of separation.
We understand that tolerance is interconnected with the qualities of non-attachment and non-judgment. As we cultivate these qualities within ourselves, we can experience a profound sense of inner peace and acceptance, leading to a deeper sense of love for all beings.
Love is not just something that happens just between two people or even between two groups; it needs to be cultivated within our communities to work. That said, it starts with ‘self.’ It starts with you.
True love requires us to move away from judgemental thoughts about others and towards understanding them.
We must learn how to accept our own flaws and those of others for true love to exist.
When we cultivate a deep sense of tolerance within ourselves,
we open the door to experiencing a boundless love
that allows us to trust and connect with others on a deeper level.
Tolerance isn't just about accepting someone else's beliefs or values but understanding them without judgment or criticism.
We must learn to embrace diversity without feeling threatened, for we all truly benefit from each other's different perspectives. Building tolerance within ourselves requires a deep commitment to self-awareness and personal growth.
Developing more tolerant attitudes towards those who don’t share the same beliefs will lead to better relationships built upon mutual respect and understanding.
It’s never too late to start doing this…
We can always strive towards a more harmonious world around us if we focus on being kinder and more understanding. Sounds simple, right?
Start by cultivating a sense of inner calm and detachment from your thoughts and feelings by engaging in regular mindfulness practices, such as meditation or mindful (box) breathing.
This can help us to approach the world with a sense of openness and curiosity and to develop a deep appreciation for the diversity and complexity of the world around us.
Today’s Action: Take a conscious step towards cultivating tolerance by dedicating a moment in your day to take several deep breaths, and intentionally sending love and acceptance to another person. This simple act can help to dissolve feelings of separation and create a deeper sense of connection and understanding between you and others.
That’s it for today! One of the big reasons I write is to interact with you. Comment below with a word or two on how this landed for you; I’d love to engage with you ‘Human-to-Human.’ -bryan
