Human instinct
Nurturing the intangible
How ironic. In a world where success is measured in dollars, cents, and units sold, I've realized the value of something intangible: instinct. It's not about the technical execution that leads to success; it's about leaning into the human element, a sentiment that has become increasingly important to me.
One thing for me is the emphasis on collecting anything of interest and allowing ourselves to be distracted by simple acts like walking and listening to emotional responses, mainly excitement, as signposts for potential ideas.
Human emotions, recognizing that emotion is what truly builds a connection between humans and brands.
The Importance of Error
Another profound point a creative mind makes is about the value of mistakes. "Humanity breathes in mistakes.ā Instead of resisting or shutting down when things go awry, he suggests incorporating mistakes, improvising solutions, and redirecting the flow. It's a distinctly human attribute to turn mistakes into beautiful art.
I recognize the counterargument that AI can assist in generating fresh ideas, depending on how well it's prompted. AI may generate or mimic existing work, but it hasn't replaced the gut instinct that results in true creative breakthroughs.
The Ambiguous Path Ahead for AI
It's true; we don't know where AI is headed. The evolving capabilities of AI suggest that it's learning to think more like us, but as of now, it's not a one-to-one replacement for creative intuition.
It's a fleeting clue that resonates with me today, recognizing the importance of nurturing and trusting our creative instincts.
Tomorrow? The digital landscape and the dynamics between human creativity and artificial intelligence are ever-evolving.
